Online and telehealth treatment in the United States
13,629 treatment facilities across the US are listed as online and telehealth treatment providers. 1,614 offer medical detox, 2,112 offer residential care, and 6,819 offer medication-assisted treatment. Facilities that report offering treatment by telemedicine, so counselling and in some cases medication management happen remotely.
Telehealth removes the travel and scheduling barriers that stop many people starting treatment, and widened considerably after 2020.
