What kind of treatment should I be asking about?
Three questions to help you work out which kind of setting to ask about first. This is orientation, not an assessment — the level of care someone needs is decided by a clinician who can examine them.

Acute Intoxication & Withdrawal Risk:
Assess physical tremors, heart rate, sweating, or risk of seizures during alcohol/drug cessation.
Severe / Acute Risk
Current heavy daily alcohol, opioid, or benzo use with history of severe tremors, seizures, or DTs.
Moderate Risk
Active daily substance use with moderate muscle aches, sweating, nausea, or anxiety.
Low / Stable Risk
Already completed acute detox or experiencing no physical withdrawal symptoms.
